Silent Night Carol Service

Join us for this special evening carol service as we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the writing of the beloved carol, “Silent Night”. In addition to all your favourite carols, the evening will feature the St. Mark’s Choir under the direction of Jacqueline Sorensen Young and the Park Royal Choir under the direction of Valerie MacKenzie, and organist Robert Hamilton.

Sunday School Classes Resume January 7
Start the year off right! Join us for Faith Lessons as we begin a five week study on Sunday, January 14 @ 9:30 a.m. The study is called “Israel’s Mission” and the first class will be “Abraham and Sarah and Three Strangers”.
On Wednesday, November 23 beginning at 7:00 p.m., a Visitation Team from the Congregational Life Committee of Presbytery will visit St. Mark’s and St. Columba. Members and adherents of both congregations are invited and encouraged to attend this visitation which will be held at St. Mark’s.
Kendall Docherty and Friends Annual Christmas Concert

Christmas Mission & Outreach Project
Help us light the tree! For every $20 raised for our Christmas Mission Project, the children will light a tree on the Mission Christmas Tree! It’s our opportunity to give help to those in the community who need help at Christmas. We’re also packing food hampers for the food bank. One Night Bible Study – The True Christmas Story

It’s a story most of us know so well, we don’t often stop to think about the details. Come discover things you never knew about the true story of Jesus’ birth!
Service of Hope/ Blue Christmas Service
Join us on Thursday, December 15 @ 7:00 p.m. for our annual Service of Hope. For many, Christmas marks a difficult anniversary of a loss or heightens the sense of loneliness they feel. For others, the hectic pace of the Christmas season is overwhelming and they just want some peace. Our Service of Hope is a way we stop in the midst of the season and allow ourselves to be blessed by the peace of God as we reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.
It’s September and things are happening at St. Mark’s!
Beginning Sunday, September 11, during our morning worship at 11:00 a.m., Sunday School classes will resume for children ages 3 through Grade 6. During that time, we also have a supervised nursery for children ages 2 and under.
Choir Rehearsals resume on Thursday, September 8 @ 7:00 p.m. New choir members are always welcome!
On Tuesday, September 13 @ 7:00 p.m. the Women’s Association will begin their fall meetings. A warm welcome to all!
Sunday, September 18 @ 2:00 p.m. the Annual Battle of Britain memorial service will be held at Sherwood Cemetery with our own Dr. Tom bringing the address and prayers.
Monday, September 19 @ 6:30 p.m. C.I.A. (13-18) and Tweens (ages 9-12) Youth Groups resume meeting for the fall!
Saturday, October 1 from 8:00 a.m. – 11;30 a.m. we will host our Annual Harvest Yard & Bake Sale. This sale will feature good quality yard sale items as well as harvest items and our renowned bake and preserves sale!
Monday, October 17 @ 7:30 p.m., St. Mark’s will host the “Ladies of the Century” concert featuring the music of Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Anne Murray and Rita MacNeil. This show sold out each time it was held this past summer, so don’t miss your chance to see it! Featuring Judy McGegor, Joan Reeves, Jolee Patkai, Keila Glydon and Coleen MacPhee with a house band of Larry Campbell, Brian Knox, Heartz Godkin, and Judy Lowe. Tickets are only $10.

Featuring the film “Silver Bells” starring Bruce Boxleitner about a scrappy sportscaster who ends up having to do community service with the Salvation Army.
Tuesday, December 8 @ 7:00 p.m. Women’s Association Candle Lighting Service
Led by members of the Women’s Association this is a special service of readings and carols as we prepare to celebrate Christmas.
A fellowship time follows in the Church Hall after the service.
Thursday, December 10 @ 7:00 p.m. Service of Hope / Blue Christmas
Christmas can be a difficult time of year for many people, especially if they are missing a loved one or Christmas marks a difficult anniversary of loss. It can also be a time of stress as people feel compelled to be “happy” even when they’re not. Come join us for a Service of Hope as we light candles in memory of loved ones and hear words of comfort and peace.
